Artist Statement

Growing up I struggled with Dyslexia and ADHD which drew me closer to expressing myself through imagery. These along with other adversities I grew through led to the professional name Little Oak Illustration. Oaks are known for their strength and their size, but also that they grow from a tiny acorn, in other words, “small but mighty”. As an artist I’m focused on bringing to light the experiences we hold as a collective and how they shape our individual perspectives.  I strive to embody this concept in my art by combining the beauty of the natural world around us with a surreal and whimsical lens. Taking the familiar and warping it emphasizes the idea that we all see the world we live in through different perspectives as we simultaneously experience life as a collective.
